Chads Pantry – Opens 6th June!
3rd June 2021
St Chads church have been working with the Foodbank on Hardwick for some years, but as they said on their recent grant application “We have become aware that many people that are struggling financially are reluctant to ask for vouchers or simply don’t qualify for them. For the ‘working poor’ in particular there is a need for ongoing financial support, they are reluctant to be seen as needing charity and the current help available is often only open when they are at work”
At Chads Pantry the vision is to provide a place that anyone in the community can access. Some of the food provided in the community pantry will come from donations but Chads Pantry plans to utilise Fareshare, reducing food waste too. Roseworth Big Local have agreed to support this community initiative by providing a grant to meet the costs for the first year of Fareshare membership.
We would like to wish the Chads Pantry team good luck and we hope their launch goes well!
