St Chad’s Pantry
30th March 2024
St Chad’s Pantry is a provision offering members of the community support with groceries and staple food cupboard items. Opening days and times: Thursday 9:00am – 11:00am and Sunday 9:00am – 11:00am.
No referral is required, the service is accessible to all who live in the area and the only information required is a postcode.
Users are only asked to pay £1 and will be able to collect fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen items, three cupboard staple items and any food items such as bread or pastries donated by local supermarkets that have a shorter shelf life. It is an eco shop, offering surplus food provides by the national charity Fairshare, local shops and donations from members of the community.
The provision aims to combat food waste alongside offering families on Roseworth a cheaper alternative to buying food. There is the option to buy other items such as toiletries and any profits received go directly back to the pantry to provide more items for the local community.
The pantry is run completely by volunteers who attend St Chad’s church and also live in Roseworth.
